Does Appearance Impact How People Respond To Us?

A psychological question that interests me is; How does our appearance impact how people respond to us? This question interests me because of my personal experiences, while working in the modeling industry. I have seen people such as the photographers, directors, makeup artists, hair stylists, models, and even the guy/girl that is in charge of the lighting, change they way the act, speak, or treat others in a positive or negative way. For example, They could be all smiles and hellos when the hair stylist walks through the door, but when the makeup artist walks in, they change the smiles to straight faces and silence, because she is wearing black lip stick and eye shadow that looks like it was from the night before. There could be many factors
To prevent this from being a problem I will after each subject is approved by both people, I will approach them and tell them that this was a experiment and explain what the experiment was about. And ask them if they would like to keep their name confidential. Another ethical concern is it being voluntary, As this is an experiment the two people asking questions/ changing their appearance would have rights to leave at any point and time if they do not want to participate in the experiment any more. As for the subjects if I felt they absolutely did not want to be bothered or seemed offended or scared at any point in time I would not continue with that subject, I would immediately let them know the situation of the experiment. I would offer some reasonable incentives to the two people asking the subjects questions/changing the appearance. I would pay them $30 a day for 3 days. As well as they would know what is happening and what they would have to do throughout the experiment, and the subjects would be told after. And there would be no harm done to either the two people asking the questions/changing their appearance or the
