Does Reality TV Promote Dangerous Stereotypes?

Journalist Morley Safer once said “Reality tv is sleazy. It is manipulative. It is as momentary as any thing in popular culture.” Many reality tv shows shown today emphasize violence which could result in dangerous actions from others. Also, many reality shows are easily accessible for children, and they can influence vulnerable children. Finally, many people have a difficult time separating reality from reality TV. For these reasons, I believe that reality tv does promote dangerous stereotypes.
Not only kids but adults also can be influenced by reality tv without actually noticing it. When people watch violence whether they realize it or not it changes their mood to the mood of what they are watching, in this case being violent. Have you ever realized that when you watch something sad it makes you sad or want to cry ? Or watched a happy movie and been in a good mood afterwards ? Well, the same concept applies in this situation, so if you watch violent reality tv you get in a violent mood but you automatically think it's ok because it was ok on the show.
Children often watch tv with their parents for many different reasons whether it is to bond, or even because you only have one tv. Most adults do not censor their kids with tv although they should. This can cause the child to change their behavior. They may think that
They think if they do the same thing as what they saw then it will result in the same consequences as what they saw. However, they do not realize that judges and other authorities are more lenient on celebrities then ordinary people. The authorities are also somewhat convinced that what they are doing is somewhat ok because they are rich and have money. They let more things slide making everyone else think that violence is ok. I think the authorities should use the celebrities as examples for what you should and should not do and not let them slide with
