Hamlet refers to himself as "dull and muddy-mettled rascal" (2.2.) this means that he is calling himself a dull good for nothing person. He refers to himself as this because he keeps on acting like he is crazy but his plan is not working since Claudius still didn't confess to killing old Hamlet.
