Wake up in the morning feeling like P Diddy
(Hey, what up girl?)
Grab my glasses, I'm out the door, I'm gonna hit this city
(Lets go)
Before I leave, brush my teeth with a bottle of Jack
'Cause when I leave for the night, I ain't coming back

I'm talking pedicure on our toes, toes
Trying on all our clothes, clothes
Boys blowing up our phones, phones
Drop-topping, playing our favorite CDs
Pulling up to the parties
Trying to get a little bit tipsy

Don't stop, make it pop
DJ, blow my speakers up
Tonight, I'mma fight
'Til we see the sunlight
Tick tock on the clock
But the party don't stop, no

Don't stop, make it pop
DJ, blow my speakers up
Tonight, I'mma fight
'Til we see the sunlight
Tick tock, on the clock
But the party don't stop, no

Ain't got a care in world, but got plenty of beer
Ain't got no money in my pocket, but I'm already here
And now, the dudes are lining up cause they hear we got swagger
But we kick em to the curb unless they look like Mick Jagger

I'm talking about everybody getting crunk, crunk
Boys tryin' to touch my junk, junk
Gonna smack him if he getting too drunk, drunk

Now, now, we go until they kick us out, out
Or the police shut us down, down
Police shut us down, down
Po-po shut us

Don't stop, make it pop
DJ, blow my speakers up
Tonight, I'mma fight
'Til we see the sunlight
Tick tock on the clock
But the party don't stop, no

Don't stop, make it pop
DJ, blow my speakers up
Tonight, I'mma fight
'Til we see the sunlight
Tick tock on the clock
But the party don't stop, no

DJ, you build me up
You break me down
My heart, it pounds
Yeah, you got me

Texts frequently portray conflicting perspectives of personalities, events and situations in order to influence the response of the reader. These perspectives are shown through a variety of techniques, and the composer invariably favors one perspective over the other in order to represent their underlying message or purpose within a text. Wag the Dog, a political satire, directed by Barry Levinson, is one such text. Levinson portrays conflicting perspectives of the character of the President throughout the film, ultimately influencing the audience into questioning the morality of their own leaders. Similarly, the documentary, Bowling for Columbine composed by Michael Moore explores conflicting perspective of CHARACTER in order to REPRESENTATION PURPOSE. Another issue explored in Wag the Dog is the Albanian war. Levinson utilizes conflicting perspectives of this situation in order to suggest that the power to manipulate a country stem from the media rather than from the government. This is mirrored by ISSUE/SITUATION/EVENT as it is portrayed in Bowling for Columbine in order to PURPOSE. Thus, it is clear that the representation process of texts influences responses to those texts.…

I left for school, jogging to school is my favourite part of the day. There’s just something about jogging in the morning, I can taste the crisp air as I breathe in and the feeling of it whipping my face and legs wakes me up. I sat outside of the locker bay, I can’t stand going in there during ‘peak hour’, the stench, a combination of sweat, deodorant, and old food, makes me want to puke. There’s always that crowd of older girls staring at me with that look of disgust as I walk through the corridor with my shiny black hair held up in a bun with some chopsticks…

When Grendel fights Beowulf, the reader learns that the monster’s “time had come,” and he will soon die. What does this idea say about the Danish belief in fate? Write a short essay in which you show how the belief in destiny influences the thoughts and actions of the characters. Provide several other examples from Beowulf to support your position.I think Grendel would go back to Herot and want revenge. He would want to kill Beowulf for trying to kill him. Grendel would not like the fact the someone tried to stop him because he had been going to the hall for 12 years and no one could stop him.He would want to kill more Danes. Grendel is a monster and he expects people to be afraid of him and he wouldnt like it that Beowulf isn's scared. The best answer choice is B, becuase he drove alot of pain and suffering away when he had his battle with Grendel, because then the people didnt have to deal with Grendel going to the hall and killing people. When Grendel fights Beowulf, the reader learns that the monster’s “time had come,” and he will soon die. The author of the short story “Beware of The Dog” is Roald Dahl. The main character of “Beware of The Dog” is the Narrator/Pilot. The setting of the story is in 1940’s of World War Two. The plot is that there is a British Pilot that is flying in his Spitfire airplane who has been shot and has lost his right leg in combat. He starts to lose conscious because of all the blood lost from his leg being shot off, he flips the spitfire upside down and falls out so he can stay awake long enough to pull the cord to his parachute. Next thing he knows he wakes up in what appears to be a hospital in London. He has a nice doctor and a nice nurse. When he woke up again he heard a German airplane known as a Ju-88, he thought it was crazy that there were no sirens going off. The nurse would come in and wash him up every morning. One day after the nurse left and he crawled on his one knee and looked out the window to find a sign that said “Gard au Chien”, he then realized he was in France. The next morning she came in and she looked nervously suspicious, jumpy, and she said that there would be a reporter coming in to ask questions soon. As soon as she said this only one thought ran through the pilot’s mind and it was that if he were to ever get caught by the Germans to only state your name, rank, and number. The point of view is first person because the story is being told from the narrators mind. He knows every detail and one person’s thoughts. The theme is, don’t believe in the illusions people can give…

I had only gotten six hours of sleep. I didn’t want to get up but today is the day that I get to explore Chicago with my friends! Even though I felt exhausted I pushed myself up and got ready. I didn’t know whether to expect it to be warm like the last few days have been or if it would be cold, so I dressed for both. I pulled my sneakers on and collected my little bag full of snacks and essentials for walking around all day. Getting to school I go sit with my friends outside the gym as we anxiously wait for the bell to ring. We came up with our plan of where we wanted to go as we munched on our little breakfast.…

Its first period and I’m not quite awake yet. It’s too early for conversation and too early to think. As my classroom fills up all the girls greet me because we all know each other in this class. We've become like a little family of crazy giggling girls, and I’m like the Soprano I section leader here in the Women’s Honor Choir as well as the only senior. The bell rings and we get to singing, and something magical happens- well, “magical” probably wasn't the best word to use since there wasn't any sorcery at work here. The better word would be something like “neurological”. Yes, something neurological happens and it’s quite simple really- I wake up. Not only do I wake…

    Wag The Dog

The movie Wag the Dog was very interesting and immediately led my mind to wonder about the actions of politicians today. In Wag the Dog I liked how from Motss perspective he was not going through with a scam, however he was simply doing what he loved most, producing a movie. While I do believe those events do take place today, I am almost certain they are not to that effect. The media is a huge distraction to people of all age groups. Media is a business in itself, in my opinion the purpose of media has shifted from simply entertainment to the way we think and what is believed to be ethical. Majority of the time I believe the media comes up with a new story or event to shift the attention of citizens or provide other information in which favors a certain side. I believe this is all in effort to get people to focus on a primary issue, topic, or idea, instead of a major occurrence in the political world. In the film numerous people went through many lengths to ensure the image of the president was of good standing. I think the press are manipulated by politicians more often than we think. Everyday there is something new happening involving people of a higher officer and it is a priority to be sure the American citizens do not find out. If they do not go through with scams, such as in the movie then everything would fall apart. Information that they want people to know is all that gets leaked. While what is important and the true issue at hand gets brushed under the rug and forgotten about. I personally do believe politicians partake in scams very frequently, because they are very aware of the repercussions that may occur once individuals become aware of certain information.…

As I turn left towards out of town at the busy corner I start to think to myself, "How am I going to make it in college?" It has only been a few weeks and I am "spazzing out" like a 4th grader over a stupid essay. How should I start my intro, I ponder as I hear the repeating thump thump thump of my feet slamming against the pavement. After a few blocks I give up and started singing "big salty tears, is what I taste, as I Drive past your house…" to the music in my headphones. The breeze pushing against the front of my body calms me and reminds me of a cool bed sheet lying on top of…

The alarm clock went “ding….ding… ding.” I woke pretending I couldn’t hear it, because I didn’t want to get up. My mom was yelling at my sister and me, “Get up girls it’s time to go school.” I didn’t understand why she was so excited.
