Domestic Violence against Women
Domestic violence is known in different ways, which are domestic abuse, intimate partner or battering. Domestic violence occurs in a relationship between intimate people. It can take many forms including sexual and physical abuse, threat of abuse and emotional. Domestic violence is mostly directed towards women, though men are abused but chances are minimal. Domestic violence happens in same sex or different sex.
According to Mayo clinic staff, it is difficult to identify domestic violence at first. Domestic violence may start at the onset of the relationship. Those who experience domestic violence in a relationship way: Prevent you from going to school or reporting to work. Forces you to engage in sexual acts against your will or have sex. Get to insult you or angry when drunk etc.
FORMS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
These include sexual harassment, physical harassment, emotional harassment, economic abuse and psychological harassment.
Sexual Harassment
It is the making of unwanted sexual move in a workplace, social situation or other professional way. Sexual harassment According to The New York Times published June 2013 sexual misconduct accusations have costed Vito J Lopez who has been a state assemblyman and his reputation. It is said the assembly panel fined him $330,000. Mr. Lopez 72 a Brooklyn Democrat and that made him resign from the assembly in May 2013. The report outlined his history of sexual harassment of female staff members. This included groping and unwanted sexual advances on female staff members.
The fine was not heavy to him because of the availability of campaign funds. He was to defend a law suit filed by two women who said, Speaker; Sheldon Silver worked to cover Mr. Lopez’s behavior. Mr. Sheldon a powerful Manhattan Democrat has admitted mistakes in the handling of Mr. Lopez and the allegations against him
