Domestic Violence In Georgia

Domestic violence is a huge problem in our day and age. With all the awareness commercial on television, people would think this problem is being corrected. In Georgia where I lived for most of my young life, domestic violence is a big problem. Especially among the African American community specifically males. It was a huge problem when I lived there and I believe that it should be fixed. This ought to be achievable mandating domestic awareness trainings across certain areas in the city of Savannah where domestic violence is ranked the highest. We should survey the students before the training and after to see the knowledge that they gained from this training. After a year of implementing this system we should check the statics and see how the numbers have changed. In Georgia there is not many domestic abuse shelters for people to go to after being domestically abused. We should create more ways for the people of Georgia to reach out to people who can help without them feeling scared of being abused again.

I propose that to stop domestic violence in Georgia we create government funded domestic violence shelters that women have access to 24 hours a day and 7 days a week and that we should create domestic violence training meeting so that people can become more aware of the problem of domestic violence.
