1. I would introduce myself to the class.
2. Today I would like to talk about Domestic Violence, why isn’t it reported that much, and how people can get involved to help those who are victims of domestic violence.
• Domestic Violence
1. Domestic Violence facts:
a. According to https://www.dosomething.org/us, Domestic Violence is known to be about physically assaulting and psychologically abusing spouses, people you are dating, and family members.
b. 85% of domestic abuse victims are all women, the 15% are men. It may be rare for men to be a victim, but it’s not impossible.
c. Children who witness domestic abuse with their parents tend to either become victims as well or use domestic abuse …show more content…
There are also hotlines that help with domestic abuse and they also help with other things like rape as sexual assault is also part of domestic abuse and suicide because abuse is one of the many reasons why women tend to commit the act.
• Conclusion
There are many reasons why domestic abuse is around and no one is trying to do anything about it. It can be the victim who is trying to change the abuser, make excuses for the assaults, afraid how more angry the abuser can be when trying to leave. But there are people who would like to help a person that goes through trauma like this. Most of all, the victim need to find the courage to leave the relationship and get shelter. It’s not easy to leave, but abusing anyone in the home is wrong and should be punished, so get everything you need ready, say goodbye to that life and start a new one.
