“Don’t Eat The Snow In Hawaii” from the TV series Magnum, P.I. (1980-1988) According to Imdb Magnum, P.I is a Crime drama TV series created and written by Donald P. Bellisario and Glen A. Larson. The directors of the TV series are Ray Austin, Michael Vejar and Ivan Dixon. The series ran from 1980 to 1988 in first-run broadcast on the American CBS (Columbia Broadcasting Station) television network. The series was one of the highest rated shows in the 80’s.
The TV series was filmed in Hawaii, Oahu, followed the private detective and investigator, Thomas Sullivan Magnum (Tom Selleck), which was a Vietnam vet and we got to know magnum as we could hear inside his mind. So we knew exactly what he was thinking throughout the episode by breaking the fourth wall. Magnum spoke directly to the camera and the audience could see straight in his eyes. Magnum had a good-looking body, very athletic and masculine look and he was a fearless guy and never scared. We could see that the clothing was from the 80’s, as well as the old cars. Magnum was driving around in a bad ass Ferrari 308 GTS and everyone was admiring his look and his luxurious lifestyle surrounded by lots of women. In this era, when the series was made, women was more feminine then they are today, in this episode we see all the women wearing dresses with flower, they cried almost the time for the most minor things, there was not many women we could see in the episode. We could see them in the disco or when they where home at the mansion. In movies or TV series today, we see a lot more women with fewer clothes and less feminine look and style. We got to see Magnum sensitive-sides as well, and that is not common in the early 80’s, actually a newer concept for that television genre. Discos are also rare today, but not in the 80’s, discoes where all over and people went out dancing in their finest clothes.
Magnum lived in a luxurious estate with Higgins, Jonathon Hillerman, an ex-British Army
