On June 16, 2015, in the extravagant Trump Tower of New York City, Donald John Trump announced his candidacy for the 2016 presidency. While most Americans raised their eyebrows in bewilderment, comedians erupted in a dance that Happy Feet would envy. His bombastic personality, amorphous hair, and poorly photographed facial expressions have become some of the most popular political punchlines. Critics dissect his statements and possible solutions until they seem unrealistic, and some are, like building a “YUGGEEE” wall to separate America and Mexico. While Trump is one of the most successful men in America, he is portrayed in media to be an ignorant idiot by YouTubers, comedy writers, and even respected…

For example, the Justice Department sued Trump’s real estate company twice for not allowing black people to rent his apartments. The company gave different rental terms and conditions to black people that were unfair. The company also lied to them, saying their were no rooms available. During the presidential debates, Donald was asked about those claims and responded saying how an abundance of other companies have done that as well, as if that makes it okay for a future president to do so. In addition, Donald also attacked Muslim gold star parents verbally. Their son had died serving in the Iraq War. After the father gave a speech at the Democratic National Convention Trump said, “ If you look at his wife, she was standing there. She had nothing to say. She probably, maybe she wasn’t allowed to have anything to say. You tell me.”(Marans, “Here Are 13 Examples Of Donald Trump Being Racist). When I was first asked to Vote it was an easy choice for me. I was picking Donald Trump. He was a business man that could help America financially and could take us out of the national debt. However, the more I looked at Donald Trump and the way his outlook on things were, I started to notice that maybe he is not a good fit for our president. Based on the way he wants to face the issues of education, foreign policy, and immigration, compared to Hilary Clinton and her way to face the issues it is clear to me now that Hilary Clinton is a better choice for presidential office than Donald Trump.…

Donald John Trump is a business later reality television star and now US presidential candidate. We've all heard it before. But what really stands out to make The real estate mogul different from the presidents in history? Throughout his campaign he has produced a straightforward rhetoric often viewed as offensive and laid a platform where minorities may feel threatened. He has appealed vastly to the Common Man by making promises to bring back jobs shipped off to other countries and to cut business regulations. He's promised to build walls and to lay down strict immigration policies. Much of this appeals to the common working class person, who feels like the Obama Administration in particular did not have their back. However, Trump is one…

In fact, he has entered bankruptcy four times on different occasions so how will this man be able to manage the country's economy? He thinks he is correct and has no concerns if people disagree with him. Finally, Donald Trump is very racist. “ Laziness is a trait in blacks” was what Trump said and as you can see, this is clearly not true as people excluding blacks are also lazy. In short, Donald Trump is not fit for being president as he clearly cannot manage the country's economy since he couldn't manage his budget 4 times and never had a job in the government so he doesn't know how it works as you cannot simply get something done in a blink of an eye.…

    Donald Trump Rhetoric

Following his slanderous case against politicians, Trump begins to outline why he is different and somehow more superior. Trump alienates himself by politicians by stating, “[frankly] our government has no idea what they’re doing on many, many fronts, folks,” ("Transcript of Donald Trump’s Immigration Speech"). By doing so, he challenges the status quo by urging the crowd to vote for a less traditional candidate. In addition, Trump makes himself much more relatable by “blending in” with the audience in the sense that he is not a politician, either. Another way Trump challenges the status quo is by comparing and contrasting himself to his opponent who is often stereotyped as an establishment politician. Trump conveys, “Hillary Clinton… talks constantly about her fears that families will be separated, but she’s not talking about the American families who have been permanently separated from their loved ones because of a preventable homicide, because of a preventable death, because of murder,” ("Transcript of Donald Trump’s Immigration Speech"). Trump makes very rash comparison between the two, attempting to further reinforce the point that he is not traditional, and that traditional politicians are bad at their job. Lastly, Trump prompts his credibility by describing who he works with. “I also worked with lawmakers, who’ve led on this issue on behalf of American citizens for many years. And most importantly I’ve met with the people directly impacted by these policies,” Trump describes, ("Transcript of Donald Trump’s Immigration Speech"). Trump’s claim works in two ways. First, it displays that he is capable of working with others despite being criticized for having too large of an ego. Two, it portrays that he may in fact have a comprehensive plan to enforce immigration reform. Overall, Trump uses ethos to paint himself as an average man, alienated…
