Donkey is very quick witted this is illustrated when he uses his quick wit and charm to get himself out of a life/death situation with the dragon. He is a born entertainer and can always find an opportunity to sing this is shown when Donkey starts singing “I’m all alone, there’s no one here besides me” when he gets locked out of Shreks house. Donkey is also very trusting and open minded this is demonstrated when Donkey isn’t afraid of Shrek and his unique ways. Wide angle shots are used to show Donkey jumping around in a lot of scenes which portrays his bubbly and hyperactive personality. Low and high angle shots have also been used in the film to portray Donkey being small and Shrek being large to show Donkeys not afraid of large scary characters.
Sound and effects is another filmic technique used in the film. This played a big part in painting Donkeys character, using lots of different pitches in his voice to show that he is an interesting and funny character.
The film uses cinematography and sound to make Donkey an important character. Vicky Jenson and Andrew Adamson use all of these filmic techniques in the film ‘Shrek’ to portray a character who is trusting, open minded and hilarious whom helps bring Princess Fiona and Shrek
