Body: I. The name of the field is "Door to Hell" A. It was given to the field by the locals that call it Door to Hell B. It referring to the fire, boiling mud and orange flames in Derweze's 1. The Door to Hell is the large crater with a diameter of 70 metres (230 ft). 2. The hot spots range over with width 60 metres and the depth around 20 metres. C. The gas reserve found here is one of the largest in the world.

As the Soviets were pleased with the success of finding the gas resources, they started storing the gas. G. Suddenly, the ground beneath the drilling rig and camp collapsed into a wide crater and disappeared. 1. There were no lives lost in the incident but it left large hole. H. However, a large quantity of methane gas was released, 1. It can create an environmental problem and posing a potential danger to the people of the nearby villages 2.
