Dorothy was solely educated by her parents and governesses until high-school. During high-school, Sayers found it difficult to find what she referred them as true friends. Once in Somerville College her colleagues within the same classes she found it easier to find friends. However, having extreme intelligence she did not find pleasure in scholarly activities. Dorothy was one of the first groups of women to graduate from Oxford. While at Somerville College she received first class honors. Her teachers admired her efforts, along with her work ethic. Sayers was recognized as a diligent writer, she was awarded as one of England’s best mystery authors. As she grew older Dorothy became inclined with the church, similar to her father. As an author Dorothy began while working as a copywriter. In 1923, she began her rough drafts of the “Whose Body?” work, in addition to the Whose Body work she began working on other mystery novels. Her “Lord Peter Wimsey” series began later that year, along with the “Whose Body?” novel. The “Lord Peter Wimsey” lasted for 15 years, this was Dorothy’s bestselling series. Another impacting book was her novel “House of Nine Tailors” one of her works influenced heavily by her eventful childhood. She continued writing eventually she wandered among other novels and novellas alike. Later reaching a conclusion, she wanted to experiment with other genres of writing.
