Down The Path Alternate Ending
Exhausted, the bitter cold zephyr, bleakly exhaled from the peak of the northern Siberian mountain and floated in frail straight lines which then swirled in lethargic and incapacitated circular motion. The breeze ambiguously swayed and eventually faded and disappeared into nowhere, as if it was harshly erased. The second wiggling and dancing feeble breeze ploddingly drew new spiral curves; starting from the centre point spinning outwards, clockwise, and gradually decreasing its velocity while moaning and groaning in agony at the repugnance provoked by the vigorous bitterness.

Down the path, geometrically rectangular pavements were decorated in a sequential pattern running horizontally like Dorothy’s symbolic bright yellow brick road. Unlike

Lightly hopping through the fresh and then stepping swiftly with the gravitational force directly down on the rectangle in his waffled tiny boots, as if he was playing his own composition, note by note, key by key, on the white and black glorious grand piano, inventing a harmoniously rhythmical melody like a professional pianist. Time to time, he was awkwardly swaying his short plump arms bandaged in winter cloth, drawing looping circles like a spirograph, as he regained his balance. Once found, he deliberately skipped for the next stride, sidestepping to keep away the unwanted dusky grey blocks with more self-assurance. The silent harmonious symphony created by the young composer vibrated through the narrow street, which seemed to hum with life and wild …show more content…
As white flakes of snow were settled on the blanched tree, it was instantly healed from overwhelming sorrow and received the blessings from the God’s guardian. Every tree in the street was embellished with silky-white snowflakes which invigorated them. And instantly became fearless of the upcoming pungent breeze as it was protected from all the torment by the blissful angels. Gentle hush cloaked the land, peppery scents filled the air, empty gravy-grey skies were bare and silent, but full of avalanche. At the same time as lenient white sprinkles were scattered through the street joyous and effervescent prevailed the

It was a cold winter day in the town of Budville. The sky was a leaden grey, heavy with snow. The ground was blanketed in a thick layer of frost, sparkling like countless diamonds under the dim light of the morning sun. Maria, a young girl of ten or eleven, trudged through the snow, her breath forming tiny white clouds in front of her face. She wore a thick fur coat and mittens, her scarf wrapped tightly around her neck to protect her from the bitter cold.…

I glanced out of the train window, watching the scenery speed away. Mighty oaks, bristling firs and radiant maple trees were all transformed into no more than colourful pins. The seat beside me lay vacant, as what once sat a wonderful and lovely gentleman, no longer shares with me the long trip home. I stare at the endless mass of space, overshadowing the Earth. The grey radiant clouds, together, began to form a distinctive image of his face, shaping his luminous smile almost to an exact. The subconscious image the clouds attempted to portray, vanished in a matter or seconds, as the white, thick clouds, spread its wings in what was forecasted to be a destructive path. Witnessing this brings me back to the day God wept a silent rain among the mournful souls.…

The Deer Ladies Leaves twirled around me as I stood in the middle of this lonely, yet enchanting forest. A small flutter fills the air as hundreds of leaves float down from the treetops, then the silence returns as the leaves touch the surface of a nearby pool. A faint song rang through the trees, accompanied by the occasional cry of a raven. If only every day could be like this. silent and peaceful, yet hear the storm brewing.…

The zephyr invigorates me as I feel an exhilarating surge of euphoria course through my veins, a warm rush of energy, as if a velvet blanket had been cast upon me. There is a harmonious dance between my footsteps, riveting in yours. I draw my instrument, raising it above my head with intent. Played there the tune of death. As he lay there, there was a wound formed on the place of impact, on the right side of his head, a slow trickle of blood started to seep out, the liquid emerged delicately, flowing on his textured skin, tracing the contours and indents caused by the blow, under his face was a puddle collecting the blood from the rivulets on his face.…

In the year 1873, while traveling through the Colorado Rockies on horseback, Isabella Bird tells us about riding through the western states of America, after giving up a comfortable life that she had been accustomed to. She travels through winter, snow covered days and then spending nights, making sure that she didn't freeze to death from the below zero temperatures. As she tries to write a letter, her ink freezes and you realize the severity of the cold weather in which the author was surviving in. Bird gives us a vivid description of the mountain wilderness she crossed while telling us about many events that occurred during this ancient era in history. Bird uses colorful words in describing the terrain in which she crossed.…

He awes us with his picturesque imagery of a ‘small cloud of cabbage-whites circles[ing] a bush’ and builds an atmosphere of serenity with the words ‘ the first [snow]flakes of the season spun over Brookline’ and one can only wonder how similarly reassuring these images are. With the words ‘they [the people of Beacon Street] had forgotten the miracle’, we feel angered, depressed and guilt-ridden thinking about man’s eternal pre-occupation therefore not having enough time for the miracles and wonders of the world and the same is justified when he says ‘their [butterflies’ and snowflakes’] element of joy was quickly forgotten’ and we can’t help but feel pity for those little creations of nature which beg for attention but get none. While this cocktail of pity and sorrow steadily develops from one side, his words ‘the leaves dimmed… that the flakes spun like ashes’ makes us first fearful of the darkness that is to come, afraid that we might have to go without warmth and light and then make us realize that we have bigger things to worry about like death and senescence (ashes, white hair and Arctic virginity of death). We do however, admire him for loving his land as much as he does (but before… in the sun) and he goes on to cheer us up with the prospect of having snowflakes on your eyelids and hair and looking out at gleaming sea scales in St. Lucia (white butterflies… in the sun) which fills us with warmth because this juxtaposition reminds us that even though we might be on this earth for a short time, good use of our time can be made.…

Everything was silent at first, as are most moment’s right before a major storm. People were roaming around, minding their own business and going about their days like nothing was wrong. It was quite clear most were trying to rush to get everything accomplished before the downpour, but no one knew how soon it would happen. Suddenly, as young eyes searched around the area for a treat for being a good boy during the trip, the wind suddenly picked up. Papers and leaves blew about, some flying in front of his face. This caused him to let go of the hand he was holding onto so he could rub at his eyes. He heard a voice, but the wind was too loud for him to hear over.…

A crisp winter morning and there was a frosty chill in the air. A sweet surrendering scent of the moist morning dew that cascades all around the sublime forest. The mixed cool autumn leaves from the tall trees lay scattered on the forest floor; they were in the motion of turning a brittle brown. There was the sound of shattered glass that emphasised the leaves being crunched, as if you were to step on them, pushing their papery remains deep into the brilliant white snow, which lined the ground like a fresh white cotton sheet. The passive and daunting forest has the appeal of a forgotten land, which has been lost in time. The isolated forest remained in a capsule, untouched by the destructive essence of man.…
