INTRODUCTION
1. Tun Mahathir bin Mohamad is the fourth Prime Minister of Malaysia. He was the longest in tenure ruling this country, since 16 Jul 19811 until 31 Oct 2003. Tun Dr Mahathir also known as the Father of Modernisation for Malaysia. Since he ruled the government, he had performed so many developments for Malaysia. He has turned Malaysia from agriculture base to an industrialised and modern country. Today we can witness the achievement by his great effort such as the luminous PETRONAS twin tower, Formula One Circuit, KLIA, and Vision 2020. Internationally, Tun Mahathir is also known to all over the world by his character and for his strong criticisms and outspoken critic of Western civilisation and those who viewed Islam as being a religion that promotes violence.
2. Tun Dr Mahathir is a charismatic, multi-talented, and the important person in the history of Malaysia and to the Malaysian people, whereby he is the person who has upgrading the status of Malaysian people economically and technologically. He had also turned Malaysia as a new industrialised country among the third world country and promoting this country internationally. Hence this study will identify on his leaderships style, the lessons learnt from his successes or failures that might be useful in Malaysia military environment.
AIM
3. The aim of this paper is to identify the leadership style practised by Tun Dr Mahathir bin Mohamad.
SCOPE
4. The scope for this paper will be divided into four parts as follows:
a. Background.
b. Leadership Theories and Style.
c. Tun Dr Mahathir Leaderships.
d. Conclusion and Recommendation.
