He was also a man of action. He took leadership in the Montgomery Bus Boycott in 1955. In 1963, he led the March on Washington and gave his “I Had A Dream” speech. Finally in 1965, he led thousand of protesters in a 50 mile walk from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama.
Yes, Dr. King was a man of many talents, and he understand the power of one. He once said, “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy. The true neighbor will risk his position, his prestige and even his life for the welfare of others.” This quote alone display the power of one. It shows how one person can influence the lives of many men. Dr. King shows that how just having one dream, something to believe in, can propel you create a mark on the world that no one can erase.
