Theodor Geisel, or as we know him Dr. Seuss, is a very well-known children’s author today. Even though he hasn’t been alive for some time he still manages to impact kids’ and even adult’s lives. He wrote dozens of books that are still very popular today for a number of reasons. Some of his most popular books have been transformed into movies or television shows. Overall Dr. Seuss is most cherished for turning his books into movies and giving kids a better incite on learning to read. Dr. Seuss was always a cartoonist but he decided to highly contribute to the newspaper with cartoons when World War two began. Parents enjoyed watching this with their children because it was cute but also taught them a lesson of taking care of their environment (Rotten Tomatoes). Parents thought some parts of the movie was scary but it helped them learn to take care of their environment. All in the entire movie wasn’t too much different from the book (“Movie Review”).
The next book that is loved by many is How the Grinch Stole Christmas. This book is a classic holiday reading, followed by the 1957 and 2003 movies. The recent movie of 2003 was said to be “live-action version of classic, has crude, scary moments” (“Movie Reviews”). Kids enjoy colorful pictures with funny characters, that is what adds to the great writing in the book. Kids tend to pick up things that are appealing in color and shape that adds to another reason these books are first pick because even the book covers jumps out at one.
