STUDENTS’ COMPETENCY IN USING PROJECTED AND NON-PROJECTED
MEDIA AS AN INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIAL OF 4TH YEAR
Abstract
This study aimed in identifying the competency in using projected and non-projected media as an instructional material of the 4th year BSIE students enrolled at TUP Manila during school year 2013-2014 with a population of 1,403 students. The researchers attained a respondent of 160 4 th year BS Industrial
Education Students enrolled in this semester. Information and data of the study was gathered through questionnaires. Descriptive analyses were done and data were presented using percentage and weighted mean. Anova was used to test the hypothesis at 0.05 level of significance.
Significant findings of this study are the following: students’ profile in terms of age, 6 or 4% of the respondents was 18 years old; 77 or 48% compromised the large portion of 19 years old; 42 or 26% of the respondents belonged to 20 years old; 29 or 26% of the respondents were 21 years old and 6 or 4% of the respondents were 21 years old. In terms of Specialization, 40 or 25% of the respondents were from Home Economics Students; 40 or 25% compromised the large portion of Computer Education Student; 40 or 25% of the respondents were from Art Education Students; 15 or 9% of the respondents were from Electronics
Technology Students; 18 or 11% of the respondents were from Industrial Arts
Students and 10 or 6% of the respondents were from Electrical Technology
Students. In terms of sex, 106 or 66% compromised large proportion of female students and 54 or 34% of the respondents were male students.
The respondents’ competency in using projected media as to Flexibility
(3.99 Mean), Adaptability (4.00 Mean), Time Management (4.02 Mean) and SelfManagement Skills (4.08 Mean).
