Dream Girl, which was directed by Lauren Cohen, tells the story of a man named Alexander who hasn’t moved on from a past relationship. His friends and family encourage him to move on but Alexander has no interest in dating again. However, this all changes when Dream Reality (DR) is introduced to him. From the first time they noticed each other to the awkward tension between them as they got to know each other better, the audience could relate to the beginning phases of their relationship. Whether from a platonic or romantic relationship, we know what it’s like to hang out with someone for the first time and how awkward the first few hangouts can be. As Alexander and Norah’s relationship blossomed and they developed a deeper connection, the audience was able to experience the couple’s growth with them. They were able to see every silly, loving and endearing moment that most couples keep to themselves. Watching the couple get closer, also made the audience worry about Alexander getting hurt. What if Norah lied about who she was and this betrayal leads to him never trusting again?
