I think the rules should simply be keeping your boobs and butt hidden and stomach covered. Also no strapless shirts or dresses. The rules are simple and they don't make females feel like they will be attacked if they wear a shirt with a sleeve that is 2.5 fingers in width. Boys should also have the simple rule of keeping their pants above their waist. Simplicity is something kids can’t argue with. When you have all these specific rules student might not understand what they mean or why they are in place. Adjusting the dress code to a simple thing to follow would make everyone happier.
I still strongly believe that dress codes are directed towards the female species, are in place so we are distracting the male students, and that it should be adjusted. Since the dress code is so female based, it makes us feel attacked. It makes us feel like we are still living to please men. This is the 21st century, women are done dressing for the men. We are done covering ourselves up for them and hiding ourselves, so why teach that in school and then turn around and say what we wear is distracting to
