The purpose of the dress code is to have a better understanding that students do not come here to show off their style, but to come here to learn and get a better education. Students fail to realize the difference between dressing for success and dressing to impress. Dress code is nothing new to our society; many jobs require you to wear certain types of clothing or a uniform. Therefore, these schools are simply preparing their students to have a successful and bright future. Students should be more concerned about what they can learn, not what they can or cannot wear. Education is what motivates student’s people to the top of the platform their wardrobe. “Be careless in your dress if you will, but keep a tidy soul (Twain)”. My decision about the cause of Edgar Allan Poe’s death being a suicide was the right decision. My decision was the right decision because I was able to make it by using reliable information that I found online and the opinions of others on the situation to make it. While doing this assignment I thought of the following quote, “Maybe it's fitting that since he invented the detective story, he left us with a real-life mystery". (Chris Semtner, Smithsonian). Now, I want you to consider that quote while reading this essay.…

At the beginning of the 20th century there wasn't much discussion about the dress code in schools. During that time students weren't dressing so provocatively. There is a big discussion between the students and the schools about the dress code and what they are going to do about it. Should dress codes stay or be removed completely? Schools been debating this topic for years, and many students have strong opinions when it comes to the school dress code and why it should be taken away. Girls and boys all over America say that the dress code is sexist, claiming that the dress code makes them think that hiding their body is more important than their education ,or that it undermines a teenage boy’s maturity level. Society shouldn't teach girls to cover up to make a distraction-free environment for the boys. Instead, families should teach boys that girls are not just sexual objects. Are the clothes really distracting, or are schools just being sexist? School dress codes should be removed.…

Boys will be boys, and girls need to conform to keep things under control. Under a strict dress code, school officials make female students conform to the perverted minds of teenage boys. School dress codes claim to teach students how to dress properly for their future career and create a safe environment in school, but in reality it often sexualizes young women’s body parts and underestimates young men’s maturity. Establishing strict dress code rules perpetuates rape culture and prevents young people from having freedom of expression.…

All throughout my schooling, I was plagued by a dress code. It felt as if I could not wear anything that I wanted. It seemed like I always was told “Your shorts are too short” or “You aren’t supposed to wear legging without a long shirt” or my personal favorite from teachers was “Your spaghetti straps are inappropriate”. The dress code really used to piss me off for many reasons. For one, I always felt like dress codes were used as a way to punish girls that were curvier than others. Then I felt like the dress code was stupid because it basically told females that we shouldn’t wear certain clothes because it would be distracting to the boys. I mean like what guy is really going to look at my shoulder and think “that’s one sexy shoulder right there”. Regardless of how I personally feel/felt about dress codes, I was set with the task of creating the ideal…

Sometimes school forgets to think about the feelings of girls when they tell them that they are violating the dress code. The school administers has been rude about the dress code, and how they address the problem. Teachers has called out girls for their clothing, and they were rude instead of being polite by taking the girl aside and quietly talking to her (“Rosalind Classroom Conversation”). I don’t believe that the teachers are realizing they are being rude about telling the girls that they are violating a dress code, but before they say anything they should stop to think about the appropriate way to address the problem. When the school administrators call out girls for their dress code, the student who is being called out starts to feel…
