Dress Code: Similarities Between High School And College

High school and college help further a person's education, so that means they have a lot of similarities. Even though they have similarities, they can be viewed differently. The major things that change in these two educational systems are; responsibility, freedom, and dress code. High School dress code is seen as a gigantic controversy to high school students. Restrictions put limit on creativity. Girls, are the students that mainly have complaints on the limits on dress code because they feel as if these set of rules specifically target them. For example, one of the rules is that a shirt has to cover the shoulders even if the material of the shirt was sheer. Consequences of violating the rules are either warned and told to change or punished by in school suspension. Any time a student can be subjected to consequences of not following the rules. This action can interrupt a whole class, and take away from valuable educational moments. Now, in College there are absolutely no rules on
The high school cafeteria is one example of students having to eat what is on the menu, they do not have the luxury of leaving school grounds. Another example, is that permission is expected to be asked for everything like; going to the bathroom. Students, also do not have the liberty to choose who their teachers are, and can not pick what time they want to go to class. Classes usually start the same time everyday. College, has a different outlook on freedom granted to students. Colleges, like to give as much freedom to young adults to get them ready for the real world. A person receives total freedom over their life by being able to choose who their teachers are, and choosing when they go to class because most colleges do not check attendance daily.
