Little proof exists that shows dress codes increase academic excellence in public schools.” Educators fail to admit the fact that the real reason they enforce dress codes is to keep the attention of Male students. Instead of forcing girls to “cover up” and wear certain clothes why don’t they learn to teach Male students that females are not sexual objects or toys. Males are accountable for their own impulses, a female should not have to change because Males fail to control themselves.
On the other hand educators believe dress codes Create a more serious Atmosphere, When schools have a serious atmosphere it emphasizes academics and promotes good behavior. Students would focus more on their studies and less about fashion or what people are wearing. The standard dress code in public schools put restrictions on the following: Hats, Sunglasses, Shorts above the knee, Dresses above the knee, graphic T-shirts that promote violence of any kind, tank tops, halter tops, and Jeans with holes above the knee.
