Dropbox Case Study
Dropbox is a file hosting service which is been managed by dropbox incorporation with their headquarters sited in San Francisco, California. Their major function includes file synchronisation, cloud storage and also personal cloud. Dropbox inc. was founded in the year 2007 by two bests of friend, Drew Houston and Arash Ferdowsi. Drew Houston came-up with dropbox idea due to his forgetfulness and his consuming quest for discovering means of synchronising files and sharing of large files.

This is due to the economic impact which dropbox made in organisations, individuals and also to the entire world. Large volume of records which would have cost individuals, companies and governmental bodies handsome amount of money to store them can now be easily stored on dropbox and could be easily accessed from any part of the world. Assuming you’re obliged to send a doc or video of over 5gb in size to your boss or supervisor who is in a faraway country. Literally, the size of this file is beyond what you could have transferred easily using your Gmail and you will spend thousands of dollars, if you intend taking it to your supervisor in person. This headache had been solved by dropbox, since all you need do is to store it on dropbox and share its link with your boss in any part of the …show more content…
Furthermore, the advent of dropbox had assisted media platforms significantly. For instance gmail, email and the likes have a limited space but this could be enhanced with the use of dropbox.
DROPBOX IMPACT ON THE SOCIETY
So far so good, dropbox inc. had impacted the society positively in various capacities. Hardly will there be any individual in this dispensation that does not know the benefits derived from dropbox. Dropbox had been a means of sharing large videos, files, Pictures and amazing images between friends, colleagues and employees.
Furthermore you can easily share photos from your travels with your folks back home by simply posting the pictures from your iPhone to a shared Dropbox folder. Family history docs and photograph could be stored on dropbox for future reference.
Although it’s negative impact is the fact that so many individuals had become addictive to it
