Wet granules (density = 1.5 g/cm3) are spread onto a screen at an amount of 10 kg/m2 of screen. The bed porosity is 45% and the wet granules have an average diameter of 300 m. Air at 60ºC(dry bulb) and a wet bulb temp of 25ºC is passed through the bed at a velocity of 0.15 m/s. How long will it take to dry the granules from 20 to 10 % moisture? The critical moisture content of the granules is 9 %.

Technological progress throughout the ages has had a wide range of consequences, large and small, radical and subtle, positive and negative. The Industrial Revolution, a time where many business practices, new innovations, and products had little to no regulation, and where technology was progressing quickly- many inventions that had been made with only the best intentions, had unforeseen effects. One such invention was the cotton gin, which had inadvertently caused a large spike in the demand for slaves, and had indirectly contributed to the start of the civil war. Another technology, the factory system saw a great increase in the…

Dehydration is when your body has lost too many fluids. Water is one of the most important nutrients to our body; the human body is from 55 percent to about 78 percent of water. The average person loses water consistently by doing everyday activities and sweating, breathing and eliminating waste. Water removes toxins and waste products from the body and puts nutrients into the body. Dehydration affects many people for many different reasons. Water has a HUGE effect on people when it comes to dehydration and other health issues. From what I see, the average person does not drink near enough water on a daily basis. Why is that? Well I believe it is because there are other fluids out there that taste better, so why drink water? We are all aware that water is healthy for us, but naturally we choose to drink stuff that taste better. Well there are plenty reasons to why you should drink water. For example, water fights off illnesses; water is an important nutrient to the immune system. Water is also important to help digest food and get rid of waste. Water also helps the skin look and stay healthy, staying hydrated keeps all the toxins away and keeps the skin from drying out and you feeling better! When you drink water you are actually helping your heart too, water helps thin blood and pump the heart which means that your heart is working less and will have fewer heart problems. Water has many important functions to the body. For example, water regulates the body’s temperature, lubricates the joints in the body, helps prevent constipation, and reduces the load on kidneys and liver by flushing out the waste products. When your body does not get enough water, it becomes dehydrated. The effects of dehydration can be dreadfully serious if it is not treated. Some of the symptoms of dehydration are; headache, dry mouth, exhaustion, dizziness and/or weakness of the body. Under Common Law, a contract is an agreement involving a promise or set of promises enforceable by law. The Uniform Commercial Code uses this same definition of contract, but in a more limited sense pertaining to the sale of goods. A person who makes an offer is the offeror, while the person to whom the offer is made is the offeree. The offeree is given the power to create a legally enforceable obligation. Once the contract is formed, the parties to the contract now include promisors--those who make a promise--and promisees--those to whom a promise is made. All contracts are subject to conditions. If the terms of the agreement are conditions, then exact performance may be required. A condition may either be breached or met. When a condition is breached, it is not fulfilled. When a condition is met, it is fulfilled. A condition may also be implied or express. Implied conditions are inferred from the nature of the transaction or the conduct of the parties. Express conditions are explicitly stated and included in the terms of the agreement1. The law recognizes the following three kinds of conditions: precedent, concurrent, and subsequent.…
