This exam consists of 18 (or 28) multiple choice questions. Each question is worth 10 points, as outlined in the syllabus. You will mark your answers in pencil on the attached “bubble sheet”. After you have read each question, you should identify ONE BEST answer among the choices given. If you need paper to work on, you may use the space provided immediately after the question. There will be adequate space to do so. You may NOT provide your own scratch paper. You may NOT detach any portion of the exam, and you must turn in ALL pages when you are finished along with the “bubble sheet”. Failure to return ALL pages will result in an investigation pursuant to paragraph 1, above. You must record your NAME, KU I.D. NUMBER, and your six digit CODES number (all left-justified) on the bubble sheet in the designated
field.
4. Your 6 digit CODES number is the most important identification on your exam. The 6 digit codes consists of a 3 digit test id number found in the upper right hand corner of this page (USUALLY IN RED INK) followed by a 3 digit form number found on the upper left hand side on the first page of questions. For example, if there was the number “045” written in the upper right hand corner of this page and the number “527” typed onto the upper left hand corner of the page containing question #1, then your CODES number is “045527” and should be entered into the 6 digit field designated as “CODES” on your bubble sheet. 5. After you have turned in your exam, you lose this privilege. The procedure is as follows:

b) Write the question number(s) that is disputed here →________________________________
c) CLEARLY state the problem with the question immediately below the question / answers.
d) Either:
i.) explain why the problem cannot be solved, OR ii.) if you believe you must make an assumption before it is possible to solve it, then you must make that assumption and solve it accordingly.
e) For any question you are not clear about, you will be graded on steps “a” “c” and "d" of this procedure.
6. When the announcement is made that time has expired, you must turn in your exam immediately.
WHEN THE EXAM OFFICIALLY BEGINS, READ AND DO THE FOLLOWING:
Verify that you have 18 (or 28) questions, a formulae sheet, and a z-table (and t-table and chi-square table). You must also provide your printed name and your signature. Your signature attests to your compliance with the honor code for each page of the exam. If any information is missing, the presumption will be that you have not complied with the honor code. The honor code states, among other things: “On my honor, I have neither given nor received unauthorized aid on this exam. Furthermore, I am not aware of anyone giving or receiving unauthorized aid on this exam.”
