For my topic for my Doing Sociology, Writing Sociologically paper I will

be focusing on gender inequality. Gender inequality refers to the differences

between men and women because of their gender. I will be examining the

different types of inequalities that both gender faces in today’s world. It will cover

how we start developing these ideas or stereotypes that lead up to this and the

overall negative impact it has on us. It will also describe the problem that may

arise in the workplace, at home, around the world, the explanations for gender

inequality, and the overall impact it has on us as a society.

In the next part of the paper, the first topic that I will describe will be the

types of challenges that may arise in the workplace, like differences in wages, or

the different treatment that somebody might get because of their gender. I will

also be examining the negative impact this may have on productivity and overall

effectiveness of the company because of how their employees are being treated.

Another thing that will be discussed that has to deal with the workplace is the

obvious disparity in the types of jobs men and women have.

The next topic I will focus on will be inequalities at home and everyday

life. Inequalities like having different standards for your son and your daughter.

Differences in parenting that people might have because of how they were raised.

Also in everyday life, like in relationships, there are gender inequalities because

since the couple have been raised and treated a certain way, supposedly how

their gender is supposed to be treated, they expect to be treated that way or at

least in a similar fashion which lead to certain differences. As you can imagine,

this may create problems if one feels they are being treated unjustly.
