Description
Dung beetles grow up to 1 inch long. They are very colorful being mostly metallic green and copper-colored.Dung beetles have well developed wings and six legs which help them dig tunnels and collect (and roll) the dung. Male beetles may have a long horn on their head though sometimes it may be smaller.Females do not have horns but they do have a small bump called a “tubercle.”
Diet
Dung beetles eat poop because it is their main food group. The parents eat poop too but they also have to feed it to there kids.They are very particular about the poop they eat. They eat herbivores and omnivores poop. The Dung beetle is very good at finding poop.

Behavior
Female Dung beetles have babies from 3 to 20 and right after they are born, they roll them up in a poop ball until they get older. The dung beetle finds its way by using the milky way. The dung beetles that live in hot climates sometimes even roll in a poop ball to cool off.
Impact
Dung beetles are not harmful to people. They help the soil by bearing 1 ton of poop per acre per day. That will help the soil and helps farmers farm and adds lots of water to the
land.
