During The Progressive Era

‘“The word “progressive” came into common use around 1910 as a way of describing a broad, loosely defined political movement of individuals and groups who hoped to bring about significant change in American social and political life”’. What progressivism was a reform movement that took government action to solve the problems in American life. The work to change many categories like education, public health, labor, economy and etc. “Progressives included forward-looking businesses men who realized that workers must be accorded a voice in economic decision making, and labor activists bent on empowering industrial workers” (Foner, 678).
The progressive ear came about in the second industrial revolution with all of the rapid economic growth that came from the increase in production. The progressivism included democratic impulses in many different ways of the years.
