Dwight David Eisenhower was born on October 14, 1890 in Denison, Texas. He was raised on a small farm in Abilene, Kansas. His father David was a mechanic and his mother Ida was a religious pacifist (Life Before the Presidency). Eisenhower was the third son in the family, followed by four more.
