"Character is what you are in the dark." by Dwight Lyman Moody is a quote.What It means is that when someone is alone they tend to be who they really are and they show there true colors. Showing someones true color means that they are who they really are and when they are alone they tend to either be a good or a bad person. A lot of people who are good people tend to be afraid to show who they really are to others because they may be afraid of what to others might think of them.Another reason that people may be afraid to show there true colors to others could be because they think that they are weird and crazy a good kind of crazy though and they are afraid that someone might make fun of them for being different.Those are some of the reasons
that I think people hide there true selves from others because they tend to care more of what others might think of them instead of just going out and being there selves.

People hide there true colors because they are afraid of what others might think of them because we live in a world where being yourself is not okay.In this world people tend to care more about what others think of them rather than going out and being them selves and so they hide there true selves and pretend to be someone they are not.We live in a world where pretending to be someone you are not is okay but being your true self is not.That is not only how people can hide there true colors because someone can be dark on the inside but light on the outside which means someone can pretend to be nice and happy on the inside but in reality they could be depressed or they could be a negative person.There are a lot people who pretend to be something they are not.They can easily pretend to be your friend or they can pretend to be a nice person,but in reality they are mean and talk bad about you behind your back it can go the other way around as well.

The quote by Dwight can also mean a person when alone can show who they really are.I think that you can tell what a person is really like when you start to become really good friends with themselves because they show u a little side of who they really are.I think that people who are unhappy tend to hide there feelings and put up a front because they are tired of getting hurt so they act like they are mean or they are done with people hurting them so they become selfish and only think of themselves and think of how they feel rather than considering the other persons feelings.
People care too much about what others think of them instead of them not caring and just being happy they would rather just hide there natural selves away and just show it when they are alone. When people start to pretend to be someone they are not soon enough they actually become that person. And they start to loose the person they once where.So in my opinion I think that people shouldn't hide who they really are and just be happy because in life your going to get judged on everything you do so just ignore what everyone else thinks and just do you because its your life not theres. Nobody is perfect not one person can say that they are or that they have never made a mistake.

In conclusion those are just some of the reasons that I believe people tend to hide there true
colors.
