Early Childhood Interview

An interview was conducted with an adult role playing both the mother and the child at the developmental stage, early childhood. I decided to have the adult role play the mother because of how important the role the guardian is in the therapeutic process. I explained the agenda to the mother, detailing what she should anticipate for the first visit to ease any worries and answer any questions. I explained the agenda, my role, and client confidentiality to the parent. We spent time discussing the importance of identifying and removing any obstacles that may be in the way of the child’s normative development. The parent was unaware that there was information that the child may share during the session, which would not be shared with her.
