Once they are done we strain them and set them aside. We then move on to the chorizo, which we cook in a deep skillet with a drop of oil. After about 6 minutes we add the potato to the cooked chorizo, mix it all together to make a chorizo flavored potato topping. The next step is to make a spicy tomato sauce, which always turns into a friendly argument when deciding whether to make it hot or mild. Personally I like it mild, but unfortunately my family out numbers me. First we gather about 8 tomatoes and boil them. Once they are done, we strain them put them in the blender along with small chopped up pieces of onions, a couple of pinches of cumin, half a clove of garlic, a pinch of oregano, and about four pinches of salt or to your taste. Once we have put all the ingredients in the blender, we mix everything and pour it into a pan with a drop of oil. We let it sit for a couple of minutes, when the sauce starts to thicken, we add a drop of chili vinegar turn the flame off and our sauce is…

The second step in cooking my family’s homemade lasagna is to prepare it. Lasagna has many different ingredients that have to be cooked and mixed together at separate times. First, you need to preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit or 190 degrees Celsius. Boil two and one half quarts of water in a 5 quart pot of lightly-salted water on medium high, add the noodles and cook them for approximately eight to ten minutes or until soft. Drain the noodles and put them to the side. Next, put the two pounds of beef in a skillet and cook on medium high heat until all of the meat is evenly brown. Once the beef is fully cooked, drain the grease and rinse the meat with warm hot water. After you have drained and rinsed the beef, put it back into skillet and add one 24 oz. can of Prego…

It is very important to have all the ingredients before you start to prep and cook your meal. You will need: two pans, four potatoes, steak, one can of green beans, one pot, a potato peeler, can opener, pepper, garlic, seasoned meat tenderizer, onion and garlic powder, vegetable oil, butter, milk, salt, chives, and a standing mixer with a rotating bowl. Once you have all of that you can start to peel the potatoes. After you have done this, you can fill the pot up with water and bring it to a boil. You can now add the potatoes and let it cook for about twenty minutes until they are cooked thoroughly. You can tell if they are finished if you can stick a fork easily through them. You then drain the water from the pot and put the potatoes in the standing mixer. The standing mixer makes it easier to whip the potatoes and they come out with no lumps. After you have whipped the potatoes, you can put them into a smaller pot and turn on the stove. Now you add a cup of milk, sprinkle some pepper and salt into the pot, and add 3 to 4 table spoons of butter. You also add some chives for flavor and mix all the contents all together. Lastly you reduce the heat and cover your finished product.…

I like to start with the preparing the main course. Chicken thighs are a favorite in my house. Conveniently, chicken thighs are inexpensive, too. Start by taking the chicken outside of the packaging and rinsing it in water. With a fork, poke the chicken all over on both sides. In a bowl, combine the chicken with oil and spices. Don’t worry about following an exact recipe. I never use the same spices or exact measurements. Often, I use flavors I enjoy. For instance, I'll add a little of each of the following ingredients: pepper, cumin, paprika, garlic, adobo (an all-purpose seasoning), and a splash of Worcestershire sauce. Rub your choice of seasoning all over the chicken thighs. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Let the chicken spices and oil marinate while the oven is preheating. Line a baking pan with aluminum foil to place your chicken in once the oven is preheated. After the oven has been preheated, place the chicken in the aluminum lined baking pan, and place it in the oven. Set a timer for 30 to 40 minutes.…
