1) Economics of Inclusion—We want to promote a local economy that is aware of and responsive to the wants and needs of diverse populations for products, services, and opportunities.
• Diverse offerings of products and services are readily available, and people who want them know where they are
• Businesses that offer those products and services get customers who want them
• The entrepreneurial spirit and initiative of minority communities is supported—entrepreneurs have opportunities to create, and business incubators (ACENet and OU’s business incubator) and financiers value creating those opportunities

3) Collaboration and Intention—recognizing the tendency for people and groups to work as if in isolation, we promote communication among and big-picture attention to the various groups and efforts working on issues of diversity and inclusion.
• People interested in diversity and inclusion know, support, work with, and strategize with each other, and they work to bring in others.
• Out of an awareness of the challenges of being welcoming and inclusive, and as a deliberate effort to meet those challenges, people and organizations themselves think of ways to be more welcoming.

4) Inclusive Organizations, Institutions, and Communities—these groups have the will, the structures, and the practices to identify, review, critique, and address the inclusiveness (or lack of same) of their organizational culture and the fairness of their practices.
• People recovering from substance, mental health, and other issues are welcomed and supported in reintegrating into the community
• Public schools (elementary, secondary, and higher education) in the area show representation of students of various languages, cultures, and ethnicities; and develop and implement programs and structures that acknowledge, support, engage, and promote that diversity (e.g., intensive foreign-language
