Edisto Beach-Personal Narrative
I was in Edisto beach running on an old wood dock. Not knowing that things were going to go bad fast. I hear the board snap and my sister starts screaming as if she was in a horror movie for mom. My knee was num as if it was a dead fish. I looked at me knee and knew my vacation was ruined. I got out of my car as I smelt the salty water, as the cool breeze hit me with the bright sun behind me. I was with my whole family this year and my mom’s friends had came as well. I thought this year was going to very fun because my cousin Evan tagged along. No kids come that are my age so it’s not as much fun when I am by myself. I remember when I walked out on the beach and felt the smooth, chilly sand. I felt the water with my foot as it …show more content…
I got dressed and ran to go eat breakfast, exited to see what fun activities we were going to do. My mom said we could explore, swim, or we could find something to go to that’s around us. I decided to go swimming with Evan and we played football on the beach. As I got sunburnt more and more I saw dolphins really close to shore. I thought was really cool as I could see their outline in the water. Later that day I saw them again and a women that lived there said that you can swim with them. I ran on the beach to the house to go get my suit to swim with them. I was running on an old wood dock and as I was running I heard a sharp snap from under me. My sister heard my fall and walked to me to make sure I was ok. I couldn’t feel my leg as if it was a fish that couldn’t flop anymore. My sister screamed bloody murder as if she was in a horror movie. Not understanding why I looked at my knee and then a flaming pain lit my leg as if it’s on fire. My knee had been split because a board had went into my knee and tore it open. My mom ran out as if she was supermom and saw the problem as fat hung out of my knee. I tried to walk as the cut was so deep until I started walking and it started gushing blood. My mom and dad eventually got me into the car with a sandy towel wrapped around my leg. Trying to find the closest hospital. We found a small emergency place that was 45 minutes away and on the way we found a

There’s no other place in the world where I feel the most at home than being at Long Beach Island. There you can smell the fresh, salty air of the ocean as the warm breeze brushes across your face. It is a place where the sand, sometimes chilled by the water or boiling hot up in the sand dunes, fiddles its way through your toes one by one sending chills down your spine with every step. Off in the distance you can hear the chiming of bells as the ice cream men call children of all ages to cool themselves off with a frozen treat. This is the place that all summer long, I am lucky to call home.…

Later that morning, in the sunlit dining hall, breakfast was being severed. My group sat at the table we sat at the night before. As I started to eat my tater-tots , the events from yesterday filled my mind. My group went snorkeling, both day and night, I could still feel the cold water soak my wetsuit. I remembered that Mr. Lacey, our principal, announced that the school would be leaving today because of a storm. I was disappointed because I payed for three days instead of two,but at least I was having fun.…

I was soon released from the hospital, and allowed to go home. It is impossible to forget the lousy car ride home. It hurt to sit up straight, so I laid down in the backseat of my mom’s Ford Explorer, and proceeded to watch a movie. By the time I got home, my back was killing me. I was forced to stay on our couch for the next few days, and needed help walking and showering, since I was not allowed to do anything to harm the stitches placed in both of the open wounds.…

Then she ran in front of me .I tried to stop from running into her .As I backed away I tripped over nothing slamming my chin on the concrete. I got up and shook it off. My head didn’t hurt surprisingly. I told shadow goodnight and went inside. My mom was at the stove like always. She was either cooking or cleaning the kitchen. She heard me close the door and turned around. She looked at me Horror Stricken. She yelled my dad’s name. My dad slid in. I stare at him wondering why they were freaking out so much. My dad told my mom to calm down or she would make me get freaked out. They showed me to the bathroom. Areanna came in with her stuffed lion. She was quietly peering at my chin ever so curiously .Then said “Here Alana.” handing me her stuffed lion. I held the small beige colored thing for a while then handed it back. I told her I don’t want to get it bloody. She nods. I looked at my chin in the mirror. My chin was bloody and all gashed. It looked like it should have hurt but it didn’t, not one bit.…

We started the races and my two cousins did the obstacle course in really good time, I thought that if I could just run the fastest I could through out the whole course I could beat both there times and win. I started running so fast it felt like I was just flying through the obstacle course, I was just about to round the corner of my parent’s bed when all of a sudden I hear my mom yell my name. I lost my concentration for a spilt second when I turn my head to see if she was in the hall when she yells my name, I felt this sharp pain I had never felt anything like this before in my life.
