Deeper student learning happens through project based learning and rich conversations. Logical reasoning skills are necessary to achieve deeper learning and master the core academic content. Have students work collaboratively and solve complex problems through student engagements, critical thinking and hands on projects and investigate information through their native languages. Students can develop content knowledge and academic mindsets in more than one language while learning from other students. 2. In what ways do students and teachers both leverage students’ native languages as an asset for learning?
Teachers and students can learn from each other through basic conversations. Teachers should keep ELL students actively engaged and have fun at the same time.
