STUDY MATERIAL: Study Guide All students use the ORAK 511 study guide. MANUAL (students registered prior to 2012). – you did not receive the text book of Van Deventer & Kruger. TEXT BOOK (van Deventer & Kruger): Only students who registered since 2012/2013 have to study the Text Book – you did not receive a Manual. Structure of the exam paper: Section A Question 1 (40 marks) compulsory Students must do 3 of the other 4 questions for 60 marks.

Students are required to STUDY AND KNOW the curriculum (see study guide). The exam information letter merely serves the purpose of supporting the students in their exam preparation task. It is not supposed to be the only questions/knowledge that could be asked in the exam. Students therefore should refrain from accusing lecturers who ask questions/knowledge that might not have specifically been referred to in the exam information letter. The only criterion is whether the paper is set according to the curriculum that you are supposed to have mastered.
Please take note: Students should make sure that they know the difference between the action words as described in the study guide. There is a huge difference between e.g. describe, analyse or give. Please read the questions carefully. Students should be able to see the correlation between marks allocated to a specific question and their response. Some students write 2 pages for 5 marks and the other way around. The following content should be regarded as important for examination purposes.
