Educational-Behavioral Information Intervention (COPE)
The COPE program was developed for the parents with preterm infants at the NICUs. This intervention, the COPE program, was the educational-behavioral information approach by the well-trained staffs. The intervention provided the information to the parents concerning the what are the specifical appearance or behavioral of the premature infants and what are the benefits activities to deal with those infants. The intervention consisted of 4 phrases as follow:
Phase I: this phase would start after the infants had been admitted into the NICU during days 2 to days 4. At this phrase, the parents would receive the audiotaped and written copy about the information of infant-behaviors and the parent’s role for regularly recording their achievements during
