The full development of human resources is need of the age. Universities are most sophisticated institutes ever developed to acquire the goal of human resource development. This institution is concerned in general with the development of the whole student but special emphasis is given to student’s intellectual attainment we may call this achievement or academic achievement.
Achievement in education as far as the universities are concerned is indicated in form of scores/grades earned by the students in the examination. It is also the primary responsibility of society & university to fulfill basic learning needs of students. Learning is a process that builds on or modifies understanding, capacities, attitudes and propensities in the individual (Ling, Joosten 1999)
According to International Encyclopedia of Education (Vol. 1, 1989) Achievement is a situation typically containing pertaining to some standards of excellence, that indicate the degree of competence or incompetence.
With the established system, the way to represent knowledge and learning is achievement in order to grades. Academic achievement is everything for a student, but there are many factors that affect the achievement of a student in class his abilities, his interest in the course, the teaching method, his peers, the classroom, even the schedule and many others. Some of these factors have a positive effect and others have a negative one, resulting in higher or lower achievement in order to grades. The importance of home environment in contributing to children’s educational and developmental progress provides a basis of support for family involvement in education, based various studies, reviews and books.
Henderson & Berla (1994) concluded that family makes critical contributions to student achievement, from earliest childhood throughout graduation. Efforts to improve children’s outcomes are much more effective if they encompass their families.
Parental/families involvement has a significant positive impact on student outcome throughout the Bachelors and Master study years. Several studies indicates that the parental involvement has a lasting effect throughout the educational career of student.
Henderson & Mapp (2001) found that, regardless of family income or background, involved parents students are most likely to: 1) Earn higher grades and test scores, and enroll in higher-level programs; 2) Be promote, pass their classes , and earn credits; 3) Attend school regularly; 4) Have better social skills, show improved behavior, and adapt well to school; 5) Graduate and go on to postsecondary education
But if parents have a central role in influencing their children’s progress in university, research has shown that universities in turn have an important part to play in determining level of parent involvement
The most promising opportunity for student’s achievement occurs when families, schools, and community organization work together.
The effectiveness of families, schools, and communities working together has been documented in several students to promote these partnerships schools must provide a variety of opportunities for universities, families and communities to work together.

From the beginning to the end of Document 2, solid claims can be found to uphold and strengthen Document 2’s claims. In reference to Document 2, “Achievement – all the outcomes that students and teachers attain. Achievements are more than test scores but also includes class participation, students’ course-taking patterns and teachers’ professional development patterns.” It is evident that this claim is strong as it e the greater meaning of achievement. By taking this quote directly from a trusted source, it clearly helps to establish its credibility. It is evident that this argument includes a greater view point of achievement rather than a single one; this in return also establishes a fine base of credibility. Unlike Document 2, Document 1 fails to do this several times on the occasion. Though this source does not offer any statistical evidence, Document 2 still surpasses Document one with its solid evidence.…

When most people think about American football they think about big hits, breaking bones, and touchdowns; but there is a lot more to it. For most high school football teams the season starts in the beginning of June and goes until October or November. The first game is in the beginning of September. But the training starts way before that! In the first week of June the players start spring practices with no gear, mostly refreshing plays. The week after no pads they will go full blow with pads getting more comfortable with taking and giving contact. Most of the successful high school teams have a 3 to 4 day football camp where the whole team goes somewhere like a college to get more practice in as well as getting a little team bonding time. Once the athletes are home from camp the rest of the summer consists of lifting/conditioning workouts all the way until the 19th of August which is Oregon School Activities Association’s, (OSAA) first day allowed to start full pads Daily Doubles. In the adapted article, “Studying in the U.S.: High Marks Just for Trying” by Nancy Steinbach the author discusses whether it would be practical to award students with higher marks as a result of effort rather than level of performance. Many students believe that as long as they try they should be priority towards earning higher grades. Based on a poll taken at UC Irvine of eight-hundred undergraduates, the results implicate that many students assume high marks should not be earned only as a outcome of the quality of work but in the end should very much reflect the effort of ones doings. Where the author saw an issue at hand however, was the concerning outcome which would provoke the inadequate ability to carry out expected tasks in ones profession. In today’s fast past environment, it would be misleading and infeasible to guide students in thinking that effort is enough to sufficiently accomplish or achieve, especially concerning careers. Although grading on quality of performance would be the most ideal approach…

In 2004, the British Journal of Educational Psychology releases a report on a research that was conducted by Eirini Flouri and Ann Buchanan dealing with the correlation of early interaction of parents and the future assessment of their children in school. Flouri and Buchanan had three particular goals in mind while completing this research: (1) To explore the role of early father involvement in children's later educational attainment independently of the role of early mother involvement and other confounds, (2) to investigate whether gender and family structure moderate the relationship between father's and mother's involvement and…
