STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
The suicide bombings and target killings in Karachi are a common phenomenon nowadays and much to the disappointment of the citizens they have increased in number over the past 3 yrs. Both the bombings and the target killings are acts of extremism and there is much speculation as to who is actually behind them.
In case of bomb blasts the most agreed upon name in the culprit list is that of “TTP” (Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan) and as for the target killings it is believed that they are political murders. Together such violent acts have resulted in chaos many a times and are the causes of great many new patterns emerging in the environment of the city.
These increased acts of extremism have resulted in many changes in the lifestyle of people of the city but the greatest impact has been on the perception of security. Every person in one way or the other has been affected by this phenomenon and hence there has been a change in the security precautions that people and security personnel observe nowadays as compared to those that they observed
