I am delighted to be here at the workshop marking the beginning of the new session. A training workshop which is key in the smooth running of any organization and particularly in running a Christian school.
Let us understand that the basis of communication is relationship and since God that created man in his image and kindness is relational. Let us look at the following:
- Let us create man in our image and likeness (Gen 1:26)
- Man was asked to give names to animals (Gen. 1:29)
- Man was given a help meet for him (Gen 2:18)
- Adam and Eve relating with God their creator (Gen.3:8)
- Even though Adam and Eve lost it, God promised restoration/reconnection.
Can you imagine a world without communication, that’s a world without relationship, love and giving. (John 3:16)
2. COMMUNICATION IN A CHRISTIAN SCHOOL
Our goals must be clear. Let us remind ourselves why we set up a Christian school. It is to teach children to observe all things (Mt 28:20) “Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you, and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world” raise them as disciples unto Jesus, i.e. make the children followers of Jesus who will love the Lord and their neighbours, Mt. 22:37-38, be humble – Phil 2:8, “And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross” be faithful stewards when they graduate.
We are to be clear in what we set out to do, our vision must be clearly defined and we must focus on it whatever happens.
IN ALL THAT WE DO AS WE COMMUNICATE ON A DAILY BASIS, WE MUST BEAR IN MIND WHY WE ARE COMMUNICATING – TEACHING THE CHILDREN TO HAVE THE MIND OF CHRIST etc.
3. BASIS FOR COMMUNICATION
Communication is about relating with one another – one of the hallmarks of a Christian school is operational integrity – Integrity of heart and practice, bearing in mind relationships and
