What were the major developments in the evolution of mass media during the 20th century? The mass media platforms are commonly considered to include radio, newspaper magazine books video games internet media such as blogs, podcasts, video sharing smart phones and streaming satellites. The last century were several major developments in the evolution on mass media. There are a lot of things that happened from one era to the next. Some of the recent develop electric which are encompass modern day media. The mass media connects people and brings the globe into our glance. Mass media is a way of connecting people a message to a large number of audience using technology. This increased efficiency went hand with the rise of the daily newspaper was the perfect medium of the increasing urbanized Americans of the 19th century ,who could no longer get there local news merely though gossip or word of mouth these Americans were living in a unfamiliar territory, and newspaper and media helped them negation rapidly changing the world.
How did each development influence American culture? Radio was a boon for advertisers who now had access to a large captive audience. Early advertising consultant claimed that the early days of radio were a glory opportunity for the advertising man to spread his sales propaganda because of a countless audience, sympathetic, pleasure seeking, enthusiastic, curious, interested approachable in the privacy of their homes. The reach of radio also meant that the medium was able to downplay regional difference and encourage and unified sense of the American lifestyle. A life style that was increasingly driven and defined by consumer purchases. Americans in the 1920s were the first to wear ready-made, exact clothing to play electric phonographs to use electric vacuum cleaners to listen to commercial radio broadcasts and to drink fresh orange juice year round. This boom in consumerism put its stamp on the 1920s and also help contribute to the Great depression of the 1930s
