Racism Against People Of Color In North Carolina
Racism is a socially endured/influenced action. It is something that has been happening since the beginning of time and it’s acquired by people of all ages and races; It is a learned behavior, passed down from generations to generations. North Carolina is inhabited by a large quantity of people of color, Native Americans, African Americans, Latinos, Asians, etc. Hence, everyone should feel comfortable and accepted.
The effects of racism while growing up, can leave emotional and or physical scars. Children with dark skin color are told that they are not as beautiful nor as smart as children with fair skin color and they hear this from the media, society, and just their everyday surroundings. …show more content…
To make things worst he sat with them and prayed with them, for about an hour before he began to execute his evil plan. After his atrocious act, he fled the scene and traveled to North Carolina. When he was found and incarcerated, the controversies about the confederate flag intensified.
The state of South Carolina had a confederate flag in their capitol building, a flag that had been there for a long time. People of color and even some caucasians, were protesting for days for it to be taken down, as a form of respect to the nine people that were assassinated. In those couple of days the state of South Carolina had not done a thing to remove the flag, making it necessary for a woman name Bree Newsome, to take it upon herself to take the flag down and as expected this woman that was being called a “hero”, was incarcerated for damaging government …show more content…
White supremacists do not only live in this nation, but all over the world and they are not to be blamed for what their believes are, because they were taught to be that way and some do not have a choice, because they were born into a family with a racist past.
Webster's New World Dictionary defines racism as "a doctrine or teaching, because there is no scientific validity, arguing that there are racial differences in character and/or intelligence. There is no prove to says that a race posses the superiority over another and that seeks to maintain the supposed purity of a race or races." in everyday life, racism is expressed through violence, jokes, and/or denial of opportunity based solely on race.
Unfortunately, many advocates of inequality, discrimination, and assimilation in the social or cultural background think they can argue that definition based on the existence of " disparities " in nature.
