There are many different way to prevent having a baby as a teen. But I feel like in high school they should actually teach about it more as well as in middle school. Any teen can go talk to a doctor if they are scared to talk to their parents about being safe, but as a teen they all think they know it all. Just when they get are about to have a baby it is a huge eye opener.
Some of the many issues that come from Teen Pregnancy are; Babies of teen mothers are more likely to be born prematurely, with serious health problems and even death. The difficulty of raising a baby at a young age causes many teen moms to drop out of high school and struggle financially due to their limited options to choose as a career. Teen pregnancy can cause depression, that can be from feeling fearful and overwhelmed from now going from a teen to now being in motherhood. Becoming teen parent, can affect the teen not going to school. Teens get so overwhelmed that they honestly just quit everything and focus on being a mother. Yes, that is a good thing that they are there for their child, but you would think they would realize that there future also depends on how the child will be raised. Most the time teen parents say that they are taking a break from school, and they will go back, but they just try to go back and can’t focus because all they are worried about are there baby at home. The show Teen Mom on MTV, a lot of viewers think that is actually making teen moms famous, and making it look like it is a good thing to get pregnant. In my opinion, I think that show really does help with showing what they’re going through as a teen mom. We viewers get to see the everyday struggle teen mom/parents go through with teen pregnancies. When a teenage pregnancy happens, the entire family often has to come together to decide whether the parents should keep the baby, end the pregnancy or give the baby up for adoption. Parents may have to help guide the teens through that decision, and the whole family must deal with the consequences that the teen decided to make. Discovering your teen has been sexually active can be a real issue on trust to your relationship, especially if she had indicated that she wasn't. Parents of teenage parents must get used to the idea that their children are now responsible for another person. With everything the teens have to go through, to me it is actually always there choice, they always think there parents are the ones always in charge and always nagging them, but in reality if teens want to do something they will go and do it. I learned in school where if a teen is a kid of a teen mom there are likely to also be a teen mom. It is call statistics. When a teenager gets pregnant there are many risks that are going to head there way, rather it is good or bad. Don’t get me wrong having a kid is an amazing thing it is just that people should wait until they are in a stable home, with a stable job, and actually know when they are ready.
