Children who got a trauma which caused by the sexual abuse need a serious treatment in order to bring them back into a normal life. A special treatment were needed because trauma that caused by the sexual abuse have been affected their mind and behavior. Moreover the impact for the sexual abuse was like an iceberg which has a small visible dimension and a much larger hidden portion (MacKinnon, 2008). One of the best way that can be use in order to reduce the sense of trauma for children is by doing some psychotherapy. This method can be affective because by psychotherapy a children will follow some steps which can make them feel relax then by this condition the level of trauma can be minimize day to day (MalChiodi, 2005).
Psychotherapy for children who got sexual abuse will follow some processes which all of the process can be classified into three phase. For the first phase is known as initial assessment phase. This phase can be described as the basic phase for the psychotherapy because in this phase all of child problems will be explore. Kathryn and David (2008) also discuss if during the initial assesment phase, information is gathered about the child and the child’s problems. All of the information that received will enable the counsellors to hypothesize what problems the children face. Then by this hypothesis, counsellors can make an appropriate media in order to overcome the problems. Moreover this phase is divided into two activities that should be done that is receiving referral information and contracting with parents. Receiving referral information is a process when child try to convey their emotional state, personality, cultural background also their behavior. Then for the contracting with parents is an activity like interview in order to get the general information about the children problems.
