R. 2 p. 108: Writers often use example to help illustrate their point. Does the example of a freewriting exercise Elbow provides in paragraph 3 help you to understand the method? Why or Why not?
I think it is easy to understand his example of freewriting. Elbow mentions in the first paragraph that freewriting is like “babbling or jabbering.” Paragraph 3 shows this example of this “babbling” by first talking about what is on his mind, to stating about the weather to talking about
sentences and colors.
W. 2 p. 108: Write an expository paper explaining the difficulties you have when writing an essay homework assignment or writing an essay-length response during an exam.
The difficulties I have when writing an essay homework assignment usually comes with my thoughts always being jumbled, unfocused or uninterested. When I start writing, the intro and the thesis is very easy to create. However, when I expand on the thesis, I tend to get lost in the thought process on how to break it down and what actual information I should list to back up my thesis. This is when everything becomes jumbled for me and my writing mixes up a lot between different explanations without keeping them in order.
