FACTS: The Hoover Motor Express Company delivered a written offer to purchase certain real estate to the Clements Paper Company on November 19, 1949. Williams, who is a vice president at Clements, had been authorized in December to accept Hoover’s offer, yet he did not contact Hoover by telephone until January 13, 1950 because he believed he would accept the offer unless he could negotiate a better deal. Clements made a written acceptance of Hoover’s offer on January 20, 1950. Hoover refused to perform, claiming that the offer was revoked on January 13. Clements stated that Hoover did not revoke its offer on January 13. Hoover claimed that Clements accepted Hoover’s offer on January 20. Clements filed suit against Hoover for breach of contract and asked the trial court for specific performance or damages. The trial court ruled in favor of Clements in holding that Hoover’s offer had not been revoked on January 13. Hoover appealed and the Court of Appeals affirmed the decree. Hoover petitioned for certiorari to the Supreme Court of Tennessee.…

Describe the process that you used to take a sample of the puddle-shaped burn pattern on the floor. Why did you also take samples from the portion of the floor that was not burned? First thing i did was I took the chisel to loosen up some of the wood chips in the puddle-shaped area. Then I used I took tweezers to put loose wood chips into an air tight sealed can. Samples needed to be taken from the portion of the floor that was not burned because you need a control to compare to how the wood was before the burned pattern.…

1 We recommend Cumberland Metal Industries capitalize on their evolving position as a leader in the curled metal industry and effectively launch their new curled metal cushion pads to be positioned as the “new industry standard” in the pile driving market. In order to successfully launch this product, we first and foremost recommend that CMI acquire a patent to prevent this product from being copied and imitated, thus avoiding the entry of competitors. The associated value and advantages of CMI’s metal cushion pads are evident from the results of the two comparative performance tests by Colerick and Fazio. CMI pads drove piles 33 percent faster than asbestos per hour and lasted the entire job while also eliminating the downtime required for changeover compared to asbestos, resulting in significant savings for the contractors. Additionally, the health dangers associated with using asbestos pads is a growing concern, making CMI pads that much more attractive. The pile driving industry has paid little to no attention to cushion pads and no manufacture has dominated the business thus far, making the entry of the CMI metal pads featured as a work-saving tool both ideal and crucial in setting the new cushion pad industry standard.…

The Cardon Carpet Mills Company is a carpet company that distributes its line through seven different floorcovering wholesalers around the United States. This company focuses on manufacturing a full line of medium to high priced carpet primarily used residentially. The senior executives, looking to integrate direct distribution and bypassing wholesalers, are seeking the best outlet for increasing profit. With increased pressure from retailers to shave their profit margins to accommodate pricing demands the wholesalers wanted Cardon Carpet Mills to consider a reduction in its prices. This will play a large part in how the company will decide if direct distribution is a valid option within this case study (Kerin and Peterson).…

ICA02_Introduction Toothbrushes have come a long way over the centuries. Since 3500 BC, people around the world have been using tools to clean their teeth. Egyptians and Babylonians made brushes by fraying the end of twigs. In the 15th century, the Chinese invented the first toothbrush by attaching bristles from pigs’ necks onto a bamboo handle. The design was adapted by Europeans, who modified the design using soft horsehairs. Process selection In this case injection molding process is considered for manufacturing the brush handle and followed by other processes to complete entire the tooth brush First, The Materials Are Gathered The handles are made out of plastic and the bristles are made out of natural boar or synthetic fibres such as nylon.. The Handles by Moulding Plastic pellets are placed in a moulding machine, which melts the plastic. Rotating screws turn the liquid plastic into the moulds. Small “cores” are inserted into the handles which makes the holes, into which the bristles are later placed. The handle moulds are tightly clamped onto a pressuriser. This helps them to cool. Once they have cooled, the handles are pushed out of the moulds. The manufacturing of multi colour plastic tooth brushes slightly varies in the process as it has to be in multi colour, multiple materials has to be used to make the handle. Multicolor Molding There are different methods for multicolor injection moulding Double injection, two types of raw materials while injection into the mold cavity. The technology is usually based on pre-injection rate and geometry of the cavity to determine the material distribution and two kinds of raw materials in the mold point. When using this method requires injection presses with very high accuracy and excellent repeatability of each cycle. Some flexibility over the technology used for the injection occasions, such…

It goes without saying, that a knapsack sprayer is a convenient and efficient way for you to apply chemicals to your lawn and the garden. Furthermore, knapsack sprayers resemble hand sprayers in terms of use and functionality and can hold up to six gallons of liquid on your backpack. Not to mention the fact that, you can carry the knapsack sprayer conveniently on your back rather than lugging around a heavy container. However, choosing the right knapsack sprayer is not easy as it sounds, considering the fact that you have to take into account a number of factors before making the final purchase.…
