Electromagnetic Braking System
ELECTROMAGNETIC BRAKING SYSTEM
A PROJECT REPORT

Abstract
The Project is based on one of the modern braking technologies, with the introduction of ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), Brake-by-wire technology, electronic brake force distribution (EBD), traction control system, emergency brake assist, or electronic stability control (ESC). The braking technology has reached a new peak. In this project electricity is applied to the coil at the time of braking. This develops a magnetic field around it and the rotating armature gets attracted towards the coil. As a result the inner and outer friction plates placed between the armature and the coil gets squeezed, which develops a torque and eventually the vehicle comes to rest. Further researches and studies on the braking system shows that in future, electromagnetic braking system can be used in tandem with KERS (Kinetic Energy
Recovery System).

The materials used in the MRI of the knee are surface coils, volume coils, knee positioning pads, sandbags, and Gadolinium, in the case of a Magnetic Resonance Angiogram. Firstly, in some cases, a surface coil is used. They are of the simplest design, a loop of conducting material. It is used as a transmitter of radiofrequency energy. This receiver coil is placed on the region of interest or the knee, in this example, for greater magnetic sensitivity. It’s often used because it has a good signal to noise ratio for tissue next to the coil. However, the sensitivity will decline as the distance from the coil increases.…

My friends and I left the restaurant, laughing. It was getting dark and the city was beautifully lit. We smiled and chatted as we walked through downtown. Suddenly my eyes fell on a young woman arranging her sleeping quarters in the middle of the sidewalk. She looked barely older than me - she could have easily been a college student. The girl sat down and pulled a few dirty blankets over her body, preparing for the night’s sleep. I was staggered by the similarities between the two of us. Her face stuck in my memory as I got home and climbed into my comfortable bunk bed. People my age weren’t supposed to be homeless, were they? Where was her family, her connections? Why would she be on the streets? Were there more people like her or was she an anomaly? I realized I knew nothing about homelessness and had instead been subconsciously analyzing it with my own preconceptions as a basis. But I wasn’t the only one allowing myself to remain so misinformed. Research shows there are almost ubiquitous misconceptions concerning homelessness and the stigma against it, especially when it comes to the demographics of the homeless population, the amount of crimes…
