Electronic Health Record System Analysis

The main focus of most hospitals and physicians has been the installation and implementation of new electronic health record systems or EHRs. Before the terminology EHR came about there were other names used to describe it such as; computer based patient records, computerized medical records, longitudinal patient records and electronic charts. The terminology EHR was branded in 2003. Prior to EHR, a patient medical record consisted of handwritten notes, typed reports, and test results stored in a paper file system. The idea behind EHR was to make treatment easier, more efficient, and to help the parties including patients.
There are eight functions of electronic health records. The first is health info and data which includes diagnoses, medical lists, allergies, and lab results.
