There are eight functions of electronic health records. The first is health info and data which includes diagnoses, medical lists, allergies, and lab results. Secondly, to interconnect clinicians by creating a system that is portable, move with consumers and to be accurate of point of care. Third, EHR wanted to personalize care which would help individuals manage their own wellness and assist with their personal healthcare decisions. Lastly, the electronic health records system wanted to improve population health with a collection of timely, accurate and detailed clinical info.
