COORDINATION
One basic idea underlying the concept organization, therefore, is the idea of coordination of efforts in the service of mutual help. As several people coordinate their efforts, however, they find that together they can do more than any of them could have singly. The largest Organization-society makes it possible, through the coordination of the activities of many individuals for all of its members to fulfill their needs.
COMMON GOALS
A second important element underlying the concept of organization then is the idea of achieving a goal through coordination of activities the goals keep organizational members together and make them work as a team.
DIVISION OF LABOUR
Division of labour refers to dividing work into operations that are narrow in scope in order to increase efficiency with which each operation can be performed.
Having divided the work in to operation, each operation is assigned to one individual or group of individual who are more fit in terms of education, skills and experience to do the job.
A close look at any industrial enterprise will reveal that it comprises several departments – marketing, productions, finance, personnel, research and development and the like-the principle of division of labour being practiced.
INTEGRETION
The forth concept needed to understand organization is closely related to the idea of integration. Integration is mainly achieved through hierarchy of authority-some system for super- ordinate, sub-groups or individuals tonsure that there is coordination among all through guiding, limiting, controlling, informing and in other ways managing the activities of people.
The term organization is used in many ways and in each way the users use it in a specific reference. Presently, the term organization is used in the following ways with or without prefix.
