The story Eleven written by Sandra Cisneros is about a girl whose birthday was spoiled all because she did not stand up for herself. The theme of this story is how it is important to be confident and stand up for who you are.

In the beginning of the story Mrs.Price Rachel's teacher, asked who’s sweater is this? Rachel the main character does not say anything or that it Isn’t hers. By not speaking up shows that she is afraid of speaking up in front of the class. If Rachel would have said something the rest of her day may have gone smooth. Additional a girl in the class named Silva says,”I think that is Rachel's.” Both of these situations show that even though you may be shy, you still need to stand up for yourself in small situations.
